Dr. Greenberg working with a patient

Dr. Dawn Greenberg received her DVM from Cornell University in 2006, and has been practicing western medicine since then. She began her career at a busy veterinary hospital in Washington, DC, then continued working at Dix Hills Animal Hospital after moving back to Long Island in 2011 to raise her family.  Dr. Dawn started her own house call practice in 2016 and now focuses on integrative medicine exclusively. This includes Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Holistic Wellness Care, and Canine Rehabilitation.        Dr. Dawn provides superior veterinary care, and you will be hard pressed to find a veterinarian with a better bedside manner. She takes the time to get to know her patients and their parents, because she genuinely cares. Dr. Dawn is passionate about treating her patients holistically, keeping them healthy and pain free, especially as they age. Frustrated with the limitations of conventional medicine, she sought a new approach and found that integrating Eastern and Western medicine was the answer.     Dr. Dawn undertook rigorous training in 2016 for Veterinary Acupuncture at the Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida. She trained under the world renowned Dr. Huisheng Xie, a leading expert in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, and became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist for dogs, cats, and horses.  She then took additional courses in Chinese Medicine and became a Certified Veterinary Chinese Herbalist.   To add to her knowledge base, and to be able to offer more for her patients, Dr. Dawn underwent training for Canine Rehabilitation in 2019 and has become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist.

Testimonials

“My 5 year old dachshund Gemma was diagnosed with IVDD. She lost complete use of her back legs. Surgery was recommended but we decided to try strict crate rest, medications and acupuncture. Dr. Dawn Greenberg has such a calming way about her that both Gemma and myself relaxed after our first meeting with her. Gemma actually fell asleep during her acupuncture. She has had 6 treatments and she is back up on all four paws. She walks like she never had a problem. My little dachshund is walking, happy, playful and pain free. I can’t thank Dr. Greenberg enough for helping us through this with remarkable results.”

“Our 14 1/2 year old English Bulldog is a patient of Dr. Dawn Greenberg for Veterinary Acupuncture. Through her treatment sessions Princess has experienced huge relief for her severe arthritis and seizures. She will often fall asleep during treatment as she is so relaxed! Dr. Dawn is incredibly patient and compassionate with her. She is very knowledgeable regarding her breed issues, and is always ready to offer great suggestions on how we can help to boost her quality of life. As a senior dog parent I have found her to be a huge support to me as well.”

Josephine C.

“We have been so lucky to have Dr. Dawn as our pets’ doctor. Both of my Mini Cavapoos were scheduled for surgery on their kneecaps and I decided to go with a holistic approach. After several visits with Dr. Dawn and watching her give them acupuncture, ultrasound and herbal medications, we not only avoided surgery, but it has been years since the treatment and they continue to run around happily. I can’t recommend her enough.”
